Design Safari

This past week I took photos that represented “balance, unity, typography, and color”. This assignment “DesignBlitz” asked to take photos of objects, ads, signs, etc. that illustrate at least four of the ten concepts listed.

Balance: This photo is of me practicing a yoga pose. Balance is essential in yoga and I learned that I need to practice a lot more. I show balance in this picture by standing on leg and trying to get my limbs and torso parallel to the ground.

Unity: I chose to take a picture of people holding wrists/hands. Holding wrists like this image is a universal symbol for unity, brotherhood, and protection. Unity means to stand as one. My lacrosse team shares a lot of unity. We look after one another and will defend one another on and off the field.

Typography: “is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable, and appealing when displayed.” The text correlates to the image because it is metaphorically referencing education as a weapon and the image that is intertwined is a gun.

Color: This could have been represented by an unlimited amount of objects, signs, etc. I chose to take a photograph of the Corona flag because it is in my house and the yellow, white, and blue mesh well together. The blue and yellow are very distinctive. The yellow crown stands out which it should because it is the logo.

I uploaded the four photos to my flickr account and created a “DesignBlitz” album that I placed them into. I tagged each photo “designblitz”.
